Hey, This are really hectic and admittedly weird.. On the bright-side: Ive been helping out a few friends with their projects. Unfortunately it has taken up quite a bit of my time.. also while they are still in development I can’t share. In the meantime I always find time to draw in my sketchbook so I am sharing a quick minute or two sketch and a preview of a WIP. TTYS

A New Illustration & Blender
I have completed another illustration, a Mer Warrior piece with a more pastel tropic palette. The final illustration can be found here. I really enjoyed playing with some South American design influences along with ancient Micronesian influences. After I had completed the Warrior piece I turned my attention to Blender. Blender is a really powerful open source tool for creatives. I haven’t used Blender so I thought I’d teach myself the program. I am experienced with both ZBrush and Maya.. Blender’s interface is kind of a mix of both, but the thing Blender has to it’s advantage it is free and available to all. The Blender Community, like the Krita…

A Study in Green
Finished up the WIP I started and it turned out great! I am very excited about the results. I used a brush that I am fond of that is heavily textured and it really adds to the experience. Krita Rules.

Warm up & exploring different color palettes
After doing a figure study warm up from a classical sculpture, I did some reading/ browsing on the web and decided to experiment with other artist’s palettes this week and the result was favorable.. I will definitely try this again . I found this both a nice change up on things and looking at color from others perspective. A while back I looked at the Zorn palette,(yellow ochre, vermilion, flake white & ivory black… that’s it.) and played with that a bit (Legendary piece) and decided to venture out a bit with changes in my approach to color. New Works
With September beginning I’ve shared a new piece that I have been working on “Hightide” ! It’s the very first Image in the updated and revised gallery along with a few other recent works: “Volley” and “Target”.
